Krakow in a nutshell

The sightseeing tour of Krakow starts at Jan Matejko Square, where you can hear interesting stories about the medieval town of Kleparz, called Florence, about the Grunwald Monument and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then the route leads to the preserved medieval fragments of Krakow’s defensive walls with the Barbican, Florian Gate, three towers and the City Arsenal. An experienced guide will provide you with information about the ring of green that surrounds the city, i.e. the rich Planty Park. Then you will walk through the Planty to the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre, built on the model of the Paris Opera House. Quietly return to the most famous street Floriańska to go to the Main Market Square. The area of the market square is as big as 200m x 200m, which makes it one of the biggest in Poland. On the way you can count on short stops in a few places: at Jama Michalika café – the cradle of Young Poland movement, at Jan Matejko’s house or at the Pod Różą hotel, which according to Cracovians will stand forever.

And this is how you find yourself in the Main Square. And there, in turn, are the Cloth Hall, the Town Hall Tower, St. Adalbert’s Church, the Adam Mickiewicz monument, Tadeusz Kościuszko’s oath plate. The tour is crowned with an entrance to St. Mary’s Basilica, one of the most important churches in Krakow, with the most beautiful main altar – the work of Nuremberg’s late Gothic master Wit Stwosz.

By Melex around the city

In this option of a quick sightseeing tour you will go on a journey by Melex. The tour starts from the Royal Route, that is from the Wawel Hill, and there a small stop: a short visit to the Cathedral and the inner courtyard of the Wawel Castle with beautiful Renaissance cloisters. Then, at a slow pace, our vehicle will travel along Kanonicza Street where you will listen to stories: under the house of Jan Długosz, under the Górków Palace, under the Archdiocesan Museum and under the John Paul II Centre “Do not be afraid”.

You will arrive at Plac Św. Maria Magdalena where our guide will tell you some interesting facts about the Romanesque, almost 1000 years old St. Andrew’s Church, about the first Baroque church of St. Peter and Paul and about Collegium Iuridicum. Then along Grodzka Street you will reach the Market Square, where you will see the Cloth Hall, the Town Hall Tower, St. Adalbert’s Church, the Adam Mickiewicz monument and Tadeusz Kościuszko’s oath plaque.

The youngest tourists

All guides know that children are a very graceful and important, but also incredibly demanding group of tourists. They observe attentively, they are not afraid to ask any questions, especially the most “difficult” and “inconvenient” ones, so visiting Krakow with the youngest is a real gymnastics of words for the mind, a test of reflexes, perceptiveness, patience and a good sense of humour. Discovering and experiencing interesting corners of the beautiful city with the youngest tourists should be based on legends, tales and stories, thus smuggling in important information about everyday life, customs, laws, as well as the history of old Krakow.

We invite all the young, children and seniors. In this city there is something for everyone! 🙂
